Sophie’s ceramics reflect a love of the natural world and our connection to it through storytelling, myth and costume. Sophies work has its roots in early British slipware and figurative scenes, using traditional hand-building and decoration techniques. Her work aims to create varying emotional responses in the viewer, from easy charm to charming unease.
